SILK CARE
How you care for you silk depends on the manufacturer. Some silk products are dry clean only, where as others can be washed in cold water by hand or in a gentle cycle. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions.
As a general rule of thumb, most silk items can be hand washed or washed in a gentle cycle with a low spin. That being said, some silks, notably Dupioni, should be dry cleaned only. If washing by hand or machine wash, use a silk detergent in lukewarm water. Rinse in cool water until all the detergent is gone. For garments, once you have washed the item, roll it up in a towel to remove moisture and then dry flat on a towel. Silk sheets should be placed on a drying rack.
